Osun Festival in the Sacred Groves of Osogbo – 3-6 August 2006

One of the most sacred places for the Yoruba people is the Sacred Groves of Osogbo where the Goddess Osun resides. Osun is the Yoruba impersonation of the “Waters of Life’. This world famous festival marks the renewal of the mystical bonds between the Goddess and the people of Osogbo. The final day of the festival is Friday, the day of worship of the god Songo, and features a procession to the river-altar and river-shrine Ojubo Osogbo.
