Alok
monolith - We visited Alok and nearby Nkarasi in October 2002, and
were fortunate to see the monoliths recently decorated for the annual
festival. These basalt carvings, restricted to Cross River State,
depict human faces with a variety of tribal markings. Local guide
Orlando explains their possible interpretation, based on knowledge
from working with Philip Allison, see www.lowegallery.com/tribal-art/
