IITA, Ibadan

July 20th - 22nd, 2007

Our weekend to IITA, just on the outskirts of Ibadan, was truly spectacular! ! Not only did it provide that relief so desperately needed from work routine and congested Lagos, but it gave me a spiritual upliftment that has re-energized me for life's forthcoming new challenges.

We were surrounded by wide open green spaces of trees, lawn, and shrubs. Even the trees were a wonderful to photograph - they were truly majestic.
Our first day started with a long leisurely walk down to the dam where we watched bird life, butterflies by the hundreds, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of our natural surroundings. Our walk into the forest was equally enjoyable as we felt so at one with nature and so blessed to be able to share it with God's creatures.

If you needed company and laughter, there was the swimming pool, tennis court, golf course and other recreational sports to enjoy with fellow companions. Good company was to be had at meal times and the food was exceptionally good and well priced.
Our accommodation was adequate, well appointed, clean and comfortable.

The beauty about IITA was that you had the choice of being with people to have company and fun, or you had the choice of breaking away and just being at one with your splendid surroundings.
We shall certainly be going back to IITA in the very near future and I have a feeling we shall be returning again and again!
